How to get rid of dark circles?
Periorbital dark circles or simply dark circles are defined as the dark blemishes on the area surrounding the eyes. Dark circles tend to make us look older than white hair. It is often seen that whenever we notice dark circles under or around our eyes, lack of sleep is the first thing which is blamed. But this isn’t the sole reason for the dark circles. There are many causes of these dark circles which are as follows:-

Sometimes, dark circles can be hereditary-Acquired from your parents. So parents can be blamed for the bad genes that they have passed on to you.
2) Age Factor
The skin under the eyes is very delicate and sensitive. It becomes thinner and translucent as we grow older hence making the blood vessels under the eyes look more prominent.
3) Sun exposure
If your eyes are exposed to the sun for a long time, the body starts producing more melanin (it is the pigment which gives our skin, hair, and eyes their colour) on the skin under the eyes. This more than normal melanin gives the skin under our eyes a darker colour.
4) Iron deficiency
Deficiency of iron is the most common cause of dark circles.
5) Fatigue and sleep deprivation
Pale skin is a consequence of lack of sleep and excessive fatigue. The blood under the skin becomes more visible and also appears darker.

Ways to get rid of dark circles
1) Almond oil
Almonds are a good source of vitamin E. They have characteristics which make the skin soft. Take a few drops of sweet almond oil. Apply it on the dark circles and massage it into the skin. Leave it overnight. You can use this remedy daily.
2) Aloe vera
Aloe vera hydrates the skin and makes it healthier. Apply aloe vera gel under your eyes and massage it well. Clean it after 15 minutes with a moist cotton pad. You can do this twice in a day.
Antioxidants like vitexin contained in cucumber help to treat dark circles. Cut the cucumber into thick slices. Put them into the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. After that, take 2 slices of cucumber and put them on your eyes so that the affected area is entirely covered. Wash after 10 minutes with cold water. You can use this method twice in a day.
4) Tomato, lemon juice, and rose water
Tomato contains lycopene, a chemical which is beneficial for under eye skin. Mix a teaspoon of tomato juice, rose water, and lemon juice. Apply it on the affected area for about 10 minutes. Wash it with cold water. You can repeat this method twice a day.
Honey nourishes the skin and supplies it with skin food that it needs. Apply a thin layer of organic honey under the eye area. Rinse it after 15-20 minutes. You can use this method once or twice in a day.
6) Avoid excess salt
Dehydration causes dark circles. We all know that sodium has the properties to retain water. So we should avoid excess salt in our diet.
7) Eat vitamin C rich food
Vitamin C helps to produce collagen. Collagen keeps the under eye skin healthier and hydrated. Some foods that contain vitamin C are guava, strawberry, broccoli, orange, lemon, tomato, peas, papaya, mango, lemon etc.
8) Sleep more
This is the cheapest way to get rid of dark circles. You should have a routine sleep of seven to eight hours per day.
9) Use a frozen spoon
Take a spoon and put it in the freezer for 1 night. In the morning, rinse your eyes. Take out the spoon and cover the dark circles with it. Do it until the spoon is warm again.
